110. People are worse than monkeys

நூல் பார்ப்பவர்க்கு

குரங்கானால் கொம்பு விட்டுக் கொம்பில் தாண்டும்

குலமக்களுக்கவ்வளவும் தெரியாதப்பா

இரங்காதே உலகத்தோடிணங்க வேண்டாம்

இந்த நூல் இருக்குதென்று வெளிவிடாதே

அரங்காதே வெளியரங்கம் பண்ணிடாதே

ஆரோடும் போகாதே தனியா நில்லு

பரங்காணும் இந்த நூல் பூஜை பண்ணு

பாக்கியங்கள் கிடைக்குமடா பரமும் கிட்டும்

Translation:

If it is at least a monkey, it will jump from one branch to another

Worldly people will not know even then

Do not feel sorry for them; do not associate with them,

Do not reveal the presence of this book,

Do not make it public

Do not go with anyone, remain alone

This book where the param is seen, worship it

You will attain great fortune, the param will also be attained.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar calls the worldly people monkeys who ate ginger.  They jump up and down, excited.  Agatthiyar says that at least a monkey will jump from one branch to another but people do not have even that much maturity.  They will not know to jump from the wrong branch, insignificant pursuits, to another branch, seeking the divine.  Agatthiyar advises Pulatthiyar to not feel sorry for them, associate with them, or reveal to them what is given in this book.  He advises Pulatthiyar to worship this work as it reveals the Supreme, the Param.  He says that not only will one know about the Param from this book but also get all the good fortune, worldly benefits.

உலக வாழ்க்கையில் மட்டுமே விருப்பமுள்ள மக்களை அகத்தியர் இஞ்சி தின்ன குரங்குகள் என்கிறார். பல்லிளித்துக் கொண்டு இன்ப துன்பங்கள் ஏற்படும்போது எவ்வாறு அதற்கு எதிர்வினை புரிவது, இஞ்சியின் காரத்தை எவ்வாறு வெளியேற்றுவது என்பதை அறியாமல் அவர்கள் திண்டாடுகின்றனர்.  இவ்வாறு கூறிவிட்டு அகத்தியர் அவர்கள், குரங்கினும் கீழானவர்கள் ஏனென்றால் குரங்காவது ஒரு கிளையை விட்டு மற்றொன்றுக்குத் தாவும். மக்களுக்கு அந்த அறிவு கூட இல்லை. அவர்கள் உலகப்பற்று என்ற கிளையை கணப்போதும் விடுவதில்லை என்கிறார்.  அத்தகைய மக்களுக்காகப் பரிதாபப்பட வேண்டாம், அவர்களுடன் எவ்வித தொடர்பும் வைத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம், அவர்களுக்கு இந்தப் புத்தகத்தைப் பற்றி வெளிப்படையாகக் கூறவேண்டாம் என்றும் அவர் புலத்தியருக்கு அறிவுரை வழங்குகிறார்.  புலத்தியர் இந்தப் புத்தகத்தை வணங்க வேண்டும் ஏனெனில் இதில் பரத்தைக் காணலாம், அது மட்டுமல்ல. இந்தப் புத்தகத்தைப் படித்தவர்கள் எல்லா பாக்கியங்களையும் பெறலாம் என்றும் அவர் கூறுகிறார்.
