328. The Devas who worshipped Devi

தானேதான் பிரம்மனுமோ வணங்கி நின்றான்

தனைவிட்டால் மாயனுமோ வணங்கி நின்றார்

தேனேதான் ருத்திரனும் வணங்கி நின்றார்

சிவ சிவா மயேசனுமே வணங்கி நின்றார்

ஊனேதான் சதாசிவனும் வணங்கி நின்றார்

ஓ ஓ ஓ  பஞ்சவரால் சமைந்த கம்பம்

காணேதான் சுழிமேவி மணியின் ஆட்டு

காரணியாள் ஆகாசக் கம்பமீதே

Translation:

The Brahma stood worshipping

The Maya also remained saluting

The sweet Rudra also stood worshiping

Siva Sivaa Mahesa also stood worshipping

 The Sadasiva, the body, also remained worshipping

O O O the pillar created by the five

See the dance of the jewel that pervades the whorl

On the pillar of akasa of the lady of the cause.

Commentary:

Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Maheswara and Sadasiva are the five manifestations of the Divine with specific principles for each of them in ascendence.  Agatthiyar says that the pillar of Devi was composed of the five people.  It may be the above mentioned five as they represent different principles and states of consciousness.  Her dance is the movement of the jewel, or the Self-consciousness that is experienced at the ajna.  Devi is the cause of the manifested world and hence she is the “kaarani” and her pillar is that of space, the cittambalam.

பிரம்மா விஷ்ணு, ருத்திரன், மகேஸ்வரன் சதாசிவன் என்ற ஐவரும் வெளிப்பாட்டின் முதல் தத்துவங்கள்.  அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒரு தத்துவத்தைக் குறிக்கின்றனர்.  ஐவரால் சமைக்கப்பட்ட அம்மனின் கம்பம் என்பது இந்த ஐவரால் ஏற்பட்டது என்று குறிக்கலாம்.   அந்த கம்பத்தின்மேல் அம்மனின் நடனம் ஆத்ம தத்துவமான மணியின் நடனம், சுழி அல்லது ஆக்ஞையில் நடைபெறுவது, அந்தக் கம்பமும் ஆகாச தத்துவத்தால் ஆனது.
