335. Yantra for worshipping Muladhara

Verse 335

பூசை என்ற அடிமூலம் பூசை கேளு

பொருளான வட்டமடா மண்ணின் மேலே

ஆசையுடன் முக்கோணம் அதனுள் போடு

அர அரா அதின் உள்ளே ஓம்காரம் தான்

நேசமுடம் ஓம்காரம் உள்ளே இட்டு

நிஜமான வட்டம் மேல் இதழுமிட்டு

பூசிதமாய் நாலுதிக்கும் இதழ் நாலாகும்

பொருந்திரண்டு இதழிலும் ஸ்ரீகாரம் தானே

Translation:

Listen to the worship of the bottom terminus/muladhara

Draw a circle over the earth

Draw a triangle within it with interest

Ara araa!  It is omkara within that

Drawing the omkara with care

Drawing the petals over that

The petals are four for the four directions

In the two petals it is Srikaara

Commentary:

Agatthiyar seems to be describing the muladhara cakra but the letters on the petals are different from what he said before while describing the cakra. The muladhara represents the earth principle.  He tells that a triangle should be drawn which is enclosed by four petals for the four directions, north, south, east and west.  Within the triangle is drawn the omkara and on two petals the letter shri.

In the previous verse where he described the muladhara cakra Agattiyar has mentioned that the letter nakaara is the letter for this cakra which represents the earth element and the letters on the four petals are sa varga and vang.  One wonders whether this diagram is for a special puja as he is describing a puja method.

மூலாதார சக்கரத்தை விளக்குவதாக உள்ள இப்பாடல் முன்பு அகத்தியர் விளக்கிய மூலாதார சக்கரக் குறிகளைவிட வேறுபடுகிறது.  பூமி தத்துவத்தைக் குறிக்கும் இந்த சக்கரத்தைப் பூஜிக்க ஒரு வட்டத்தை வரைந்து அதனுள் முக்கோணமிட்டு அதனுள் ஓம்காரத்தை எழுதி அதனைச் சுற்றி நான்கு இதழ்களை வரைந்து அவற்றில் இரண்டினுள் ஸ்ரீ என்று எழுதுமாறு அவர் கூறுகிறார்.

மூலாதரத்தை விளக்கிய முந்தைய பாடலில் அவர் நாற்சதுரமும் அதனுள் நகாரமும் இதழ்களில் ச வர்க்க எழுத்துக்களையும் இடுமாறு கூறியிருந்தார்.  இங்கே அவர் விலக்குவது ஒரு பூஜை முறைக்கு என்று தோன்றுகிறது.
