204. Behavior of a true guru

Verse 204

குரு நடக்கை

நிசங்கன் என்றால் இக்குருத்தான் நிசங்கன் அப்பா

நீர் வெளுத்து நின்றதென்றால் பால்தான் என்பார்

பொசுங்கன் என்ற புருடன் பெண் வேடம் பூண்டால்

பெண் இவளே சத்தியம் நான் செய்வேன் என்பார்

அசுங்கன் என்ற ஆணையைப் பூனை சென்று

அடித்ததென்று திருடர்கள் வந்துரைத்தாரானால்

நிசங்கம் என்றே எண்ணி அவர் நன்றாய்க் கேட்பார்

நேசம் உள்ளோர் சாம்பவிபோல் மறந்தார் காணே

Translation:

                                                    Behavior of a guru

The truthful one, this guru is the embodiment of truth

Even if water remains white he will say it is milk

If bhujangan adorns a garb of a woman

He will swear that he is a lady

When some thieves say that

The elephant asungan was beaten by a cat

Believing that it is true he will hear sincerely

Those who have the love will forget like the sambhavi

Commentary:

This verse talks about a guru who is child-like, trustworthy without any guile.  He will belive what he sees as truth, what he hears as truth and forget all the evil, fallacies and remains with the innocence of a child.

குழந்தையுள்ளம் படைத்த ஒரு குருவைப் பற்றி உள்ளது இப்பாடல்.  இந்த குரு வெளுத்ததெல்லாம் பால் என்பார், எல்லா வார்த்தைகளும் உண்மை என்பார்.  தீயவற்றையும் பொய் புரட்டையும் மனதில் சேமித்து வைத்துக்கொள்ள மாட்டார்.  பொதுவாக மென்மையான தன்மையை உடையவராக இருப்பார்.
