209. Search the Guru with the knowledge I have imparted so far

Verse 209

காசினியில் இக்குருவைக் கண்டு

வீணப்பா மற்ற குருக்கள் எல்லாம்

           வித்தாரப் பனங்கள்ளோ ஈசன் கள்ளோ

கோணப்பா மீறவுமே விரித்துச் சொன்னேன்

குடியிருப்பு அவருடைய தடமும் சொன்னேன்

ஆணப்பா என்றக்கால் இங்கு மார்க்கம்

அறிந்து நீ குருதேடி அறிந்திடாயே

Translation:

Compared to this guru, all other gurus

In the world are useless.

They are the elaborate palm toddy or the delusion of Isa

See son, I have told this in elaboration

His residence and his tracks I told you,

When you want to attain this path

You search for the guru, with knowledge.

Commentary:

Having described various types of gurus and their methods Agatthiyar is advising Pulatthiyar that the last type of guru he described is the best and that one should seach for such a guru with the knowledge that Agatthiyar has imparted so far.

பலவிதமான் குருக்களைப் பற்றி கூறிய அகத்தியர் புலத்தியரிடம் தான் கடைசியில் கூறிய குருதான் மிகச் சரியானவர், அவருக்கு நிகர் இவ்வுலகில் வேறு எவரும் இல்லை என்று சொல்லி அத்தகைய குருவை தான் இதுவரை அளித்த அறிவைக் கொண்டு தேடு என்று அறிவுரை கூறுகிறார்.
