310. Like the arrow of the archer, like the explosive of the stone expert

சொல்வீரே என்றுரைத்தாய் புலத்தியா கேள்

சொல்லிவைத்தேன் காவியமாம் இது மூன்றாக

அவ்வீரே சரக்கு வைப்பு வாதக் கட்டும்

அங்கங்கே மறைத்ததெல்லாம் அழகாய்ச் சொன்னேன்

வில் வீரன் அம்பதுபோல் கொடுத்தேன் ஞானம்

மெய்யாகக் கற்பம் நிறை விளங்கச் சொன்னேன்

கல்வீர வேட்டதுபோல் ஞானம் எல்லாம்

காட்டினேன் இந்நூலில் கண்டு பாரே

Translation:

“Please tell” you said Pulatthiya, listen

I recited the kavya as these to be three

Similarly sarakku vaippu and vaada kattu

I told beautifully all those that were hidden before

I granted wisdom like the arrow or an expert archer

I told truthfully/ for the body, the karpa and its glory

Like the explosive of the expert of stones, all the wisdom

Commentary:

Agathiyar tells Pulatthiyar that he has explained the three concepts the jnana, the sarakku vaippu and vaada kattu.  He says that he has revealed everything that was hidden before.  The wisdom that he has granted through this book is like an arrow released by an expert archer.  It will never miss its target.  Agatthiyar has also explained the karpam or medicinal preparations. He uses the term ‘meiyaaka’ which means truthfully as well as to become the body.  Karpam is used to transmute the body from its lower material state to the supreme state of divya deha.  Not only the knowledge is to the point and sharp it is also as explosive as the firecracker used by one who wishes to break the rock.  Agatthiyar tells Pulatthiyar to learn all these from this book.

இந்த நூலில் அகத்தியர் புலத்தியருக்கு, சரக்கு வைப்பு, வாதக் கட்டு மற்றும் கற்பம் பற்றிக் கூறியுள்ளதாகவும் இதுவரை மறைக்கப்பட்டு வந்த விஷயங்களைத் தான் இங்கே வெளியிட்டுள்ளதாகவும் கூறுகிறார்.  இதில் தான் கூறும் ஞானம் ஒரு வில் வீரனின் அம்பைப் போன்றது, அதாவது, தனது இலக்கைக் குறிதவறாமல் அடையக்கூடியது, அது கற்களைத் தகர்க்கும் வீரன் வைக்கும் வெடியைப் போன்றது, அவ்வளவு சக்தி வாய்ந்தது கல்மனதையும் தகர்த்து சமன்படுத்தக் கூடியது, என்று கூறுகிறார்.  இதனால் இந்த நூலைக் கற்று இவ்விஷயங்களைப் பார் என்று அவர் புலத்தியரிடம் கூறுகிறார்.
