252. Where were you when all these happened?

Verse 252

காண் என்றீர் என்குருவே கும்ப வாழ்வே

காலடிக்கே தொண்டன் ஐயா கடவுளாரே

தோண் என்றீர் நான் எவரைக் காணப் போறேன்

சுத்த வான் உமைக் கண்டேன் பின்னால் காணேன்

உண் என்றீர் சிவன் முதலாய் புசண்டர் வாறு

ஓ ஓ ஓ குருவாலே ஒளிவு கம்பம்

தாண் என்றீர் புசண்டர்தான் அறிவார் என்றீர்

சொன்னவர்தான் எங்கிருந்தீர் சொல்லுவீரே

Translation:

“See!” you said, my guru, the life of kumba

Salutations to your sacred feet, Sir, The Lord!

You said, think, who will I see?

I saw you, the pure sky, I do not see anyone after that

You said consume, The way followed by Siva and Pujandar

O OO the pillar hid due to the guru

“Dance” you said, you said only Pujandar knows about this

You, the one who told these, where were you, Please tell.

Commentary:

Pulatthiyar is asking an interesting question here.  He asks Agatthiyar where he was when all these events, creation and dissolution, happened.  He says that he heard from Agatthiyar about all these events and that Pujandar has witnessed all these.  Now he asks Agatthiyar where Agatthiyar was during this creation and dissolution processes.

இப்பாடலில் புலத்தியர் அகத்தியரிடம் மிக முக்கியமான ஒரு கேள்வியைக் கேட்கிறார்.  அகத்தியர் தன்னிடம் படைப்பு லயம் ஆகியவற்றைப் பற்றிக் கூறிவிட்டு இவற்றை புஜண்டர் பார்த்தார் என்று கூறினாரே அப்போது அகத்தியர் எங்கே இருந்தார் என்று புலத்தியர் கேட்கிறார்.
