Verse 42

அந்த நூல் ஆயிரத்து இருநூற்றுள்ளே

ஆட்டம் என்ற ஆட்டம் எல்லாம் ஆடித்தீர்ந்தேன்

பிந்த நூல் சௌமியமாம் சாகரத்திலே

பேசினேன் சகலநூல் பெருக்கமெல்லாம்

முந்த நூல் காவியந்தான் ஆயிரத்துள்ளே

முறை முறையாய் ஞானமொடு சரக்கு வைப்பும்

இந்த நூல் காவியந்தான் ஆயிரத்துள்

ஏக நிராமயமான சோதி தானே

Translation:

In that work that contains thousand two hundred

I performed all the dances/ actions

In the following work, saumya sāgaram

I talked about all the works, their expansions

In the previous composition of thousand verses

I spoke about wisdom and storage methods

Within this composition of thousand

Only the fully complete effulgence.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar describes the topics he has elaborated upon in his different works.  He says that he has previously elaborated upon all kinds of topics in the 1200 (kalaijnanam) and saumya sagaram, and spoke about wisdom and storage methods in the previous composition of 1000 verses.  In this work he has focused only on the Divine experience, the fully complete effulgence, nirāmaya jyoti.

அகத்தியர் மெய்ஞ்ஞானம் என்னும் இக்காவியத்தினுள் அகத்தியர் கலைஞானம் என்றொரு பகுதியைத் துவங்குகிறார்.  முதலில் தனது பிற நூல்களைப் பற்றிய சிறுகுறிப்பைத் தரும் அகத்தியர் தான் ஆயிரம் என்னும் நூலில் எல்லாவற்றையும் விரிவாக விளக்கியுள்ளதாகவும் அதே போல் சௌமிய சாகரம் என்ற நூலிலும் பல விஷயங்களை விளக்கியுள்ளதாகவும் கூறுகிறார்.  தனது ஞானம் ஆயிரம் என்ற நூலில் ஞானத்துடன் சரக்கு வைப்பை பற்றிக் கூறியுள்ளதாகவும் இந்நூலில் தான் பரவுணர்வு, நிராமயமான பரஞ்சோதியைப் பற்றி மட்டுமே கூறப்போவதாகவும் குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.
