201. A guru who will process you as if being cooked in a furnace

Verse 201

ஆச்சப்பா இன்னம் ஒரு குருவைக் கேளு

அடங்காத வேடமொடு உலகோர் போலும்

பேச்சப்பா மிகநயமாகப் பேசுவார்கள்

பேச்சுவாய் குத்தமிட்டுப் போம் என்பார்கள்

காய்ச்சுவார் ஓர் முகத்தில் சூளைத் தீபோல்

கலக்குவார் ஆனை குளம் கலக்கினாப் போல்

பேச்சப்பா அரை விசேஷம் முன்னே சொல்வார்

போட்டுவிட்டு நேர்மை இனி புகலுவாரே

Translation:

Alright Son, hear about another guru

 Uncontrollable, in the garb of the wordly

They will speak very pleasantly

Any mouth that blames them will faulted

They will burn (others) like the fire in the furnace

They will stir like the elephant stirring the pond

They will speak of that which is half important first

Leaving it they will speak the truth later

Commentary:

Agatthiyar is continuing about another guru who seems to be embodiment of anger.  He looks like a common person engaged in worldly life.  He will speak very pleasantly.  However, he will have the anger like the fire burning in the furnace.  This anger may be to weed out the evil qualities of the disciple.  “He will stir like the elephant stirs the pond” may mean that he will turn everything that all the crud, evil qualities, will be routed out of their evil corners.  He will generaly speak not-so-important things but when the time comes they will reveal the truth.

அகத்தியர் இப்பாடலில் மற்றொரு குருவைப் பற்றிக்கூறுகிறார்.  சாதாரண உலக மக்களைப் போலத் தோற்றமளிக்கும் இந்த குரு இனிமையாகப் பேசுவார், ஒருவராலும் அவரைக் குத்தம் சொல்ல முடியாது.  ஆனால் அவரது கோபமோ சூளையைப் போல தகிக்கும்.  சூளையில் உள்ள நெருப்பு மெதுவாக எரிந்து மண் கலவையை செங்கல்லாக மாற்றுகிறது.  இதேபோல் இவர்களது கோபம் நிதானமாக சீடனிடம் உள்ள தீய குணங்களை நல்லவையாக மாற்றுகிறது. அவர் யானை குளத்தைக் கலக்குவதைப் போல கலக்கி சீடனுள் இருக்கும் எல்லா தீய குணங்களையும் இடம்பெயரச் செய்து அவற்றை வெளியேற்றுவார்.  பெரும்பாலும் சாதாரணமாகப் பேசும் அவர்கள் சமயம் வரும்போது உண்மையை உரைப்பார்.
