239. Siva asks Pujandar about creation

Verse 239

அறிந்திலேன் என்றுரைத்த புசண்ட மூர்த்தி

அரகரா உன்போலே முனியார் காணேன்

தெரிந்திலேன் என்றுரைத்தால் மனங்கேளாது

சிவன் பயந்து நீர் ஒளிக்க வேண்டாம் ஐயா

பொருந்திலேன் பூர்வத்தில் நடந்த செய்கை

பூரணத்தால் உள்ளபடி புகழ்ந்துசொல்லும்

பறிந்திலேன் மிகப்பரிந்து கேட்டேன் ஐயா

பழமுனியே கிழமுனியே பயன் சொல்வீரே

                    

Translation:

Pujanda moorthy who says, "I do not know!"

Araharaa!  I do not see another muni like you

If you say you do not know the heart will not accept it

You do not have to hide it as Sivan has requested it.

I do not know the event that happened in the beginning

Please tell it gloriously through (the state of) fully complete.

I beg you I beseech you Sir

The old muni, the ancient muni please tell this.

Commentary:

Siva is begging Pujandar to describe the events that happen during the beginning of the universe.  He tells him not to hide it as it was the supreme lord Siva who has requested it.  He says that he cannot accept Pujandar’s statement that Pujandar does not know it and that there is none other than Pujandar who can talk about it.  He asks Pujandar to remain in the state of fully complete, poornam, and describe it.  This tells us that Pujandar is witnessing the events in the state of supreme consciousness. 

சிவன் புசண்டரிடம் உலகம் தோன்றும்போது நடப்பவற்றை விளக்குமாறு இப்பாடலில் கேட்கிறார்.  தனக்குப் பயந்து அதை ஒளிக்கவேண்டாம் என்றும் புசண்டர் பூரண நிலையில் இருந்துகொண்டு அதை விளக்கவேண்டும் என்றும் அதை விளக்க அவரைவிட சரியானவர் இல்லை என்றும் சிவன் கூறுகிறார்.
