காணப்பா
இவனுடைய கிரமம் என்ன
கண்டோர்கள்
தனை அடுத்துத் தொண்டு செய்வான்
ஊணப்பா
வாதம் என்றால் உற்றுக் கேட்பான்
ஓஓஓ
ஞானம் என்றால் அகலப்போவான்
வேணப்பா
ஒருநாளும் உதகாணையா
வெள்ளாட்டிப்
பயல்களுடன் சேர வேண்டாம்
ஆணப்பா
உன்னிடத்தில் வந்தாலுந்தான்
அகற்றும்
நாய் அது போல அகற்றுவாயே
Translation:
See what this man's method is.
He will serve those who have realized
He will listen
carefully when there is an argument
He will go away if
it is wisdom
Not needed, he will
never help
Do not associate
with such useless fellows
Even if they come
near you
Discard them as if
they are dogs.
Commentary:
This category of cheats that Agatthiyar describes loves to serve popular people who engage in empty
arguments. When there is exchange of
real knowledge they are not interested.
Agatthiyar says that such people are useless, they will never be of any
help. He advises Pulatthiyar to get rid
of them as if they are dogs.
அகத்தியர்
இப்பாடலில் விளக்கும் மக்கள் வெட்டிப் பேச்சு பேசுபவர்களுக்குத் தொண்டு செய்து
அவர்கள் வாதிடுவதைக் கேட்பார். ஆனால்
உண்மையான ஞானம் பெறுவதில் அவர்களுக்கு விருப்பம் இருப்பதில்லை. இத்தகைய மக்கள் பயனற்றவர்கள், பிறருக்கு
உதவமாட்டார்கள் என்றும் அவர்களை நாயை விலக்குவதைப் போல விலக்க வேண்டும் என்று
அகத்தியர் புலத்தியரிடம் கூறுகிறார்.
