134. Pulatthiyar requests Agatthiyar's grace

Verse 134

கேட்பாரென்றுரைத்துவிட்டீர் குருவே ஐயா

கிருபையுள்ள தெளிவோர்கள் செய்கை என்ன

வாட்பாக முன்னுரைத்தீர் அறியார் செய்கை

வஞ்சகரை காமுகரை வெளியாய்ச் சொன்னீர்

தாட்பாகப் பெற்றவரோ இன்னும் உண்டோ

சந்தேகம் உண்டானால் விளங்கிப் போவீர்

ஆட்பாக அடியேன்மேல் கிருபை செய்து

அருள் செய்வீர் செய்தபின்பு அருள் கேட்பேனே

Translation:

My Guru!, Sir, you said they will ask

What is the action of the merciful clear headed souls

You told the action of the ignoramus

You exposed the cheats and the debauch

Are these all or are there more?

Please clear any doubts that may arise

Having mercy on me, your devotee

Please bestow your grace, I will ask for your grace.

Commentary:

Pulatthiyar lists all the types of people that Agatthiyar spoke about, the cheats, the swindlers and the debauch.  Agatthiyar also described the actions of the good and the ignorant souls.  Now Pulatthiyar requests Agatthiyar to bestow his grace on him and he will ask him about more.

அகத்தியர் இதுவரை திருடர்கள், காமுகர்கள், அல்பர்கள் ஆகியோரைப்பற்றியும் தெளிவுளோர்கள் தெளிவற்றவர்கள் ஆகியவர்களின் செய்கைகள் ஆகியவற்றை விளக்கியுள்ளார் என்றும் அவர் தன் மீது அருள் செய்தால் தான் இனி அருளைப் பற்றிக் கேட்க விரும்புவதாகவும் புலத்தியர் கூறுகிறார்.
