145. A deceitful guru

Verse 145

பொய்க்குருவின் பூஜை

சண்ணுவான் உலகோர்கள் குடமிருந்தால்

சாணம் என்று கால் விழுவான் தப்பிப் போவான்

பண்ணுவான் இவனொருவன் குருக்கள் ஐயா

பார்த்தறிந்து புலத்தியனே இன்னங் கேளு

எண்ணுவான் ருத்திராக்ஷ மாலை பூண்டு

எல்லாம் தான் தெரிந்தவன் போல் பூஜை செய்வான்

நண்ணுவான் சக்கரம் களவ்விது சுத்தி

நாட்டோரைக் கொண்டுவரச் சொல்லுவானே

Translation:

Worship by the deceitful guru

He will fight where people are assembled

He will act as if he stepped on cowdung, he will escape

He will perform the act of a guru, Sir,

Seeing it and realizing it, Pulatthiya listen somemore

He will count the rudraksha beads wearing it

He will perform worship ritual as if he knows everything

He will approach the cakras circling them with deceit

He will tell people to bring it to him

Commentary:

Agatthiyar talks about a false guru here.  Such a person will pick up fights when he sees people assemble in one place.  If it gets to be too much he will pretend as if he has stepped on cow dung and escape from that place.  He will wear rudraksha beads and count them as if he is keeps counts for a japa.  He will perform worship and other rituals as if he is an authority on the procedures.  He will talk about the cakras and yantras as tell people to bring them to him to cast. 

இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் மற்றொரு அபாயகரமான குருவைப் பற்றிக் கூறுகிறார்.  இந்த குரு பலர் குழுமியிருப்பதைக் கண்டால் அங்கே சென்று பிறரை வாதத்துக்கு இழுப்பான்.  தான் தோற்பதைப் போல உணர்ந்தால் ஏதாவது ஒரு காரணத்தைக் கூறிவிட்டு அங்கிருந்து தப்பிவிடுவான்.  உருத்திராட்சத்தை அணிந்துகொண்டு அதை மந்திரத்தைச் செபிப்பதைப் போல உருட்டுவான்.  தனக்கு எல்லாம் தெரிந்ததைப் போல மக்களை யந்திரம் சக்கரம் ஆகியவற்றை வரைய தன்னிடம் வருமாறு கூறுவான்.
