152. For those who practice kumbaka

Verse 152

கற்பத்துக்கும் ஞானத்துக்கும் கெடுதி எதால் என்று கேட்க

காட்டுவேன் புலத்தியனே பூசையோனே

கால் நிறுத்தி வாசியினில் கலந்த வாழ்வே

பூட்டுவேன் புகழ் விரும்பிச் சுருக்கம் தன்னைப்

பொய்யில்லா மெய்விரும்பிச் சொல்லுவேன் கேள்

ஆட்டுவேன் சின்மயமாம் மணியில் நின்றோர்

அணைந்தால் என் விடுத்தால்என் அவர்க்கே இல்லை

சூட்டுவேன் சிவக்கியானம் வந்தோர் ஐயா

சுடர்மணிக்கு இருள் உண்டோ சூக்ஷம் தானே

Translation:

I will show Pulatthiya!  The worshipful one,

The life of cessation of vital air and merging with vāsi,

I will adorn/lock the essence preferring the glory

Preferring the truth free from fallacy I will tell you, listen,

I will shake.  Those who remain in the jewel of chinmaya (embodiment of consciousness)

It does not matter whether they snuff it or discard it.  this is not for them,

I will adorn the Sivajnana to those who come, Sir

Is there any darkness for the lamp of consciousness, only subtlety, Sir.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar talks about kumbaka and vasi yogam first.  He says that cessation of breath (kumbaka) and merging the consciousness with the breath is supreme life.  He says that for those who remain in the jewel of consciousness, the flame, it is a permanent state, a glorious state that is the ultimate truth.  Those who remain in that state permanently are the supreme souls.  The knowledge he is revealing here is not for them.  They do not need it.  He adds that this knowledge is only for those who seek wisdom about the state of Siva.  They are souls who have not reached the chinmaya.  He concludes the verse saying there is no darkness, the darkness of ignorance, when this flame is burning, only Sivajnanam.

மூச்சைக் கும்பகமாக நிறுத்தி விழிப்புணர்வை வாசியுடன் கலக்கச் செய்யும் வாழ்வே உச்ச வாழ்வு என்னும் அகத்தியர் இந்தச் சுடரை ஏற்றியவர்கள் எப்பொழுதும் வெளிச்சமான நிலையில் இருப்பார்கள்.  இந்த விரிந்த விழிப்புணர்வு நிலை நிரந்தரமானது.  அதில் அஞ்ஞான இருள் இல்லை, சிவஞானம்தான்.  தான் இதைப் பற்றிச் சுருங்கக் கூறுவதாக அவர் புலத்தியருக்குக் கூறுகிறார்.
