56. Growing the paddy but not harvesting it?

Verse 56

நம்பாமல் போனதென்ன புலத்தியா கேள்

நான் விரித்துச் சொல்லவென்றால் யுகமோ இல்லை

கொம்பாமல் விரிக்கவென்றால் வெள்ளேடில்லை

குறுக்கி நாம் உரைத்துவைத்தால் சுளுவாம் பாரு

எம்பாமல் உலகமதில் பரைசெய்யாமல்

இருந்த இடத்திலேயிருந்து மௌனம் காரு

சம்பாநெல் விளைத்துதடா உலகம் எங்கும்

தனைப்பார்த்து அறுக்காமல் இருந்திட்டாரே

Translation:

Why did you not believe Pulatthiya! Listen!

If I explain it in detail even an eon is not sufficient

If I have to write it down without summarizing it, there are not enough white sheets

If I explain it briefly it will be easy, 

Without jumping up and down or announcing it to the world sounding a drum

Remain where you are and be silent

The sambha paddy grew all over the world

They remained without harvesting it at the right time.

Commentary:

Agatthiyar explains how difficult a concept this is by saying that it would take him an eon to explain it and if he were to write it down all the white sheets will not be enough.  He tells Pulatthiyar that he will explain it in brief and that Pulatthiyar should hear it calmly and quietly without jumping up and down or revealing it to the whole world.  Then he tells Pulatthiyar that the paddy has grown all over the world.  However, people did not harvest it.  

Siddhas equate pranayama to harvesting the paddy.  World here means the microcosm or the human body.  Thus, Agatthiyar laments that people are not performing the kundalini yoga and harvesting its benefits.  

இந்த தத்துவம் எவ்வளவு கடினமானது என்பதை விளக்க அகத்தியர் அதை விளக்கமாகக் கூற பல யுகங்கள் ஆகும், அதை எழுதவேண்டும் என்றால் வெள்ளைத் தாள்கள் பத்தாது. அதனால் தான் அதைச் சுருக்கமாகக் கூறுவதாகவும் புலத்தியர் மேலும் கீழும் குதிக்காமல் அமைதியாக மௌனமாக அதைக் கேட்கவேண்டும் என்றும் அதை அனைவருக்கும் கூற முனையக் கூடாது என்றும் சொல்கிறார். அதன் பிறகு அவர் உலகில் நெல்லை விளைக்கின்றனர்.  ஆனால் அதை அறுவடை செய்ய மறந்துவிடுகின்றனர் என்று கூறுகிறார். சித்தர்கள் பரிபாஷையில் நெல் என்பது மூச்சைக் குறிக்கும்.  நெல்லை விளைப்பது என்பது மூச்சுப் பயிற்சியைக் குறிக்கும். அதை அறுவடை செய்வது என்பது பிராணாயாமத்தினால் அதன் பலனை அனுபவிப்பது.  இதை மக்கள் செய்யத் தவறிவிடுகின்றனர் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
