84. The blind who adorn the garb of Guru will not reveal this

Verse 84

பாடினேன் புலத்தியனே மகிமையோனே

பஞ்செழுத்தில் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்தே செய்கை

கூடினேன் குருபுத்திராள் அறியச் சொன்னேன்

குருக்கள் என்று வேடமிட்ட குருடர் சொல்லார்

ஆடினேன் சிவதலங்கள் கோலி வந்தேன்

அருந்தவத்தால் ஆண்பிள்ளை ஈன்றேன் என்பார்

தேடினேன் நான் செய்த பலன்தான் ஐயோ

சிவசிவா பெண்என்பார் தேசத்தோரே.

Translation:

I sang Pulatthiya!  The glorious one!

The action of the five letters splitting into two.

I told this information so that all the sons of the guru will know it

The blind who adorn the garb of a guru will not reveal this

I danced in the sites of Siva visiting them

They will say- I begot a male offspring because of severe austerities

I sought the benefit of all my actions- they will say, Alas!

It is a girl they will say, people of this world, Sivasivā!

Commentary:

Agatthiyar says that instead of realizing that the combinations of the five elements decide whether the offspring is a male or a female people will say that they got a male child only because they visited many Siva temples and performed several austerities.  They will lament if it is a female child!  

One wonders whether discrimination against the female child existed even during Agatthiyar’s times!

Agatthiyar says none of the so called gurus will explain this truth, that everything is made up of the panchakshara.  They are blinded by ignorance.

உலகில் உள்ள உயிர்கள் அனைத்தும் ,ஐந்து பூதங்கள் மேற்பாடலில் கூறியபடி பிரிந்ததால் ஏற்பட்டன என்பதை உணராமல் உலக மக்கள் தாம் எண்ணற்ற சிவன் கோயில்களுக்குச் சென்றோம், பல தவங்களைப் புரிந்தோம் அதனால்தான் ஆண் வாரிசு ஏற்பட்டது என்றோ இவ்வளவு செய்தும் பெண் பிறந்துவிட்ட தே என்றோ கூறுவர் என்று அகத்தியர் புலம்புகிறார்.  இந்த உண்மையை, அனைத்தும் பஞ்சாட்சரத்தினால் ஆகியவை என்பதை, உலகில் குருக்கள் என்று உலவும் எந்த குருடரும் உரைக்க மாட்டார் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.
