68. Siddha lineage- the hill lineage

Verse 68

மூணாப்பா மலைவர்க்கம் அம்பாள் செய்கை

முத்துமணி புலத்தியனே நன்றாய்க் கேளு

ஆணப்பா போகருக்குக் கொங்கணரே பிள்ளை

அவர் ஞானி சிவயோகி மௌன வாசி

காணப்பா குளிகை இட்டு சிலம்பொலியில் புக்கி

கருத்தோடே ஆறுவரை புக்கி மீண்டார்

ஊணப்பா அவர் ஞானம் அருமை மெத்த

ஒருவருக்கும் வாராது கடினந் தானே

Translation:

The lineage of the hill is three/third, the action of the goddess

Pearl-like, special Pulatthiya! Listen well

For Bhogar, Konkanar is the son

He is a jnani, Siva yogi, one who practices silence and vāsi/he resides in silence

See son, with the help of the medicinal potion (kulikai) entering the sound of anklets

Entering the six mountains with attention, he returned

Focus on his wisdom Son, it is wonderful

None can get it, very difficult.

Commentary:

Having described the mulavarga and kailaya varga Agatthiyar is talking about the malai vargam or hill lineage.  Sakti is generally said to be the lady of the hill.  She is called Parvatha vardini. Agatthiyar is may be indicating the lineage that worships manonmani or the kundalini sakti here.  Konkanar is the siddha well known in this lineage.  Agatthiyar says that he was the son/ disciple of Bogar.  Agatthiyar describes Konkanar's technique for realization.  He says that Konkanar is a saint, a Siva yogi, one who practices silence.  He merged his consciousness with the sound of sakti’s anklet by consuming the medicinal potion, which is the divine nectar.  He transcended the six mountains or the chakras and returned to his ground level.  Agatthiyar praises him saying that his wisdom is supreme, extremely rare to accomplish.

மூல வர்க்கம் கைலாய வர்க்கம் ஆகியவற்றை மேற்பாடலில் விளக்கிய பிறகு இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் மலை வர்க்கத்தைக் குறிப்பிடுகிறார். பார்வதி தேவியை மலை மகள் என்று அழைப்பது வழக்கம்.  அகத்தியர் மலைப் பரம்பரை என்று குறிப்பிடுவது சக்தி வழிபாடு செய்பவர்களை, அதாவது குண்டலினி சக்தி அல்லது மனோன்மணியை வழிபடுபவர்களை.  இப்பரம்பரையைச் சேர்ந்த கொங்கணரை இப்பாடலில் அகத்தியர் புகழ்கிறார்.  போகரின் மைந்தர் என்று அவரைக் குறிப்பிடும் அகத்தியர் அவர் ஒரு ஞானி, சிவயோகி, மௌனி என்று கூறுகிறார்.  அவர் சித்திகளை அளிக்க வல்ல குளிகையின் உதவியுடன் அம்பாளின் சிலம்பொலியில் தனது விழிப்புணர்வை சேர்த்து, அதாவது நாதத்தில் சேர்த்து, ஆறு வரைகள் எனப்படும் ஆறு சக்கரங்களினுள் சென்று மீண்டு வந்தவர் என்கிறார் அகத்தியர்.  அவரது செயல் மிகக் கடினமானது, ஒருவராலும் செய்ய இயலாதது என்று அகத்தியர் அவரை மேலும் புகழ்கிறார்.
