Verse 73

பரப்பினார் மூன்று காண்டம் முந்நூற்றை நூறு

பாடியதோர் நூலிலே சிரோமணிதான்

நிரப்பினார் ஐந்நூற்றில் சகல தொந்தம்

நீட்டினார் குதிரைகட்டி நிலைக்கச் சொன்னார்

அரப்பினார் அந்நூற்றில் குழந்தையாலும்

அவர் நூலைப் பார்த்திடவும் வாதம் ஞானம்

மறைப்பில்லாப் போகும் ஐயா அவர்தான் வாக்கு

மாணிக்கம் கடைந்து வைத்த மனிதனாமே

Translation:

He spread the three kāndam, three hundred and five hundred

An expert in the work he composed

Filled in the five hundred all the duality

He extended it and made it firm by tying the horse

He explained in the hundred, even a child

Who reads his book will understand vāda jnana

It will become very clear, Sir, his words

Are rubies, he is a man refined (for good qualities).

Konkanavar vāda kāviyam 3000, Konkanavar mukkāndam- 1500, Kondanavar tanigunam 200, Konkanavar vaidyam 200, Vāda sutram 200, Dhandkam 120, Jnana chaitanyam 124, Sarakku vaippu 111, Karpa sutram 100, Vālaikkummi 100, Jnana mukkānda sutram 80, Jnana venba sutram 49, Ādi antha sutram 45, Muppu sutram 40, Urpatthi jnanam 21, Suddha jnana-16, konkanavar meijnanam 13, konkanavar thirumandira jnanam 12, konkanavar kshutchatherisana jnanam 6.

Agatthiyar says that Konkanar’s works are simple to understand that even a child can learn about jnana.  He is mentioning that in the five hundred verses of the mukkaandam (3X500) Konkanar has discussed the breathing techniques.  The horse referred to here is the breath.  Controlling the breath and making the inbreath longer, to twelve inches as mentioned before, is referred to as tying the horse and extending.

கொங்கணரின் பாடல்கள் ஒரு குழந்தை கூட புரிந்துகொள்ளும் அளவுக்கு எளியதாக உள்ளன என்று அகத்தியர் பாராட்டுகிறார்.  இப்பாடலில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள குதிரை பிராணனாகும்.  மூச்சுப்பயிற்சியினால் பிராணனை நீட்டிப்பதை (இதை முன்னமே பார்த்தோம்) குதிரையைக் கட்டி நீட்டிப்பதாக அகத்தியர் கூறுகிறார்.
